Dr. Hrachya Astsatryan Presents on Exascale and Parallel Computing at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand

During his recent visit to Thailand, Dr. Hrachya Astsatryan, visited Chulalongkorn University, one of the premier academic institutions of Thailand. As part of the visit, a special seminar was initiated by Dr. Supareak Praserthdam, Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.

The seminar, titled “Exascale and Parallel Computing: A Case Study in Armenia,” brought together students and researchers from various disciplines, including Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, and Applied Science. Dr. Astsatryan presented key developments in high-performance computing, showcasing Armenia’s experience and achievements in the field of high-performance and parallel computing.

Held in a hybrid format, the seminar allowed participants to attend both in-person and remotely, enhancing accessibility and fostering wider participation. The session stimulated engaging discussions and served as a platform for knowledge exchange between students and faculty at Chulalongkorn University.

Following the seminar, Dr. Astsatryan and Dr. Praserthdam engaged in discussions on potential avenues for future collaboration. They explored topics of mutual interest in scientific computing and interdisciplinary research, laying the groundwork for possible academic and research cooperation between Armenian and Thai institutions.

This initiative highlights the strengthening ties between the academic communities of Armenia and Thailand and underlines the global significance of high-performance computing in addressing complex scientific and technological challenges.
