The Institute of Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA Participates at Erasmus K1 Projects with Leading Research Centers in Cyprus and North Macedonia

The Institute of Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA proudly announces its participation in Erasmus K1 projects in collaboration with two esteemed research institutions: the Cyprus Institute, the Center for Computational Science and Technology and Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia. This initiative aims to strengthen international academic networks, promote innovative research, and facilitate knowledge exchange across borders.

We had the honor of hosting two distinguished representatives: Dr. Andreas Athenodorou from Cyprus and Prof. Anastas Misev from North Macedonia.

Key discussions with Dr. Andreas Athenodorou and Prof. Anastas Misev highlighted their respective organizations' cutting-edge research and collaborative potential, emphasizing the significance of this partnership.

As part of the visit, we also organized a seminar. Our employees had the opportunity to attend a session presented by Dr. Andreas Athenodorou titled "Introduction to Quantum Computing." This seminar offered valuable insights into the rapidly evolving field of quantum computing and its transformative implications for future research and technology.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the Institute’s commitment to fostering global academic partnerships and advancing research excellence.

Further information
Andreas Athenodorou, Associate Research Scientist at the Cyprus Institute, holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Particle Physics from the University of Oxford. His research focuses on SU(N) Gauge Theories and effective string theoretical descriptions using Lattice Gauge Theory simulations. His academic journey includes postdoctoral roles at DESY Zeuthen, Swansea University, and the University of Cyprus, where he also served as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor. From 2019 to 2021, he was a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Pisa. His expertise spans Theoretical Particle Physics, Lattice Gauge Theories, Hadron Structure, Computational Physics, and the application of Machine Learning in scientific research.

Anastas Misev, a Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University and IEEE member, holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science. His specialization includes collaborative computing infrastructures, grid, and high-performance computing systems. He has contributed to over 25 international projects funded by TEMPUS, PHARE, DAAD, and FP programs, focusing on developing informatics infrastructure and education. His extensive research portfolio includes more than 80 publications in international journals and conference proceedings.
