Memorandum of Cooperation to pool efforts and resources in areas of mutual interest





A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on January 31 between Hrachya Astsatryan, the director of the Institute of Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA, and Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, the Rector of YSU. This memorandum outlines their collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Under this partnership, both parties will combine resources, including scientific and educational potential, for collaborative scientific research, educational projects, and practical initiatives. Following the signing, a meeting-discussion took place to clarify the upcoming steps and the roadmap outlined in the memorandum.

The cooperation encompasses a broad spectrum, involving the utilization of computer, network, and library resources, as well as the organization of joint conferences, seminars, and other scientific events. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance collaboration among faculty members, researchers, and students.

As part of this collaboration, the parties will work together to establish a joint scientific and educational laboratory, aiming to facilitate the most effective organization of students' practical experiences.

The professional qualifying examinations on the specialties E.13.04
(The program) and E.13.05 (The program) will be held on November 27, 2025 at 11:00 in the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems.




On November 28, 2025 at 13:00 the general seminar of IIAP will be held (the seminar's room, IV floor).

On the agenda there is the report of Edvard Khalafyan on "From Entropy to LLM Tokens: Information-Theoretic Foundations of Modern Machine Learning" (An overview of how information-theoretic ideas shape modern machine learning, from principles of entropy and uncertainty to practical methods for learning structure and making predictions.).
