MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING: THE INSTITUTE FOR INFORMATICS AND AUTOMATION PROBLEMS OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA AND UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA FOR COLLABORATION IN EDUCATION AND SCIENCE





During a two-day visit to the University of Georgia in Tbilisi, the delegation from the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia engaged in dynamic meetings and discussions, culminating in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This marks the inception of a promising partnership between the two institutions, laying the foundation for future bilateral cooperation.

In a significant step towards promoting international collaboration in the fields of education and science, the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and the University of Georgia have officially established a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The agreement, formalized by the respective representatives, Director Hrachya Astsatryan for the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems, and Rector Konstantine Topuria for the University of Georgia, solidifies their commitment to collaborative initiatives that will benefit the academic communities of both institutions.

The primary objective of this collaboration is to cultivate a mutually enriching environment for teaching staff, research workers, and students, focusing on the fields of computer science and information technologies.

The Memorandum implies key dimensions of collaboration: Exchange and Mobility, Research Collaboration, and Joint Scientific Events. The exchange and mobility of teaching staff, research workers, and students will foster the exchange of know-how between the institutions. Research activities include joint scientific projects and the publication of results. Both institutions agree to organize joint scientific conferences, seminars, and participate in discussions and meetings organized by either party.

The MOU between the University of Georgia and the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems marks a significant step forward in fostering bilateral partnerships in the pursuit of knowledge and innovation. Both institutions are poised to benefit immensely from this collaboration, opening doors to cross-cultural understanding.

The qualifying examination in Informatics for PhD students will take place on June 17, 2025 at 11:00 in the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems (room 203).
