Visit to Cyprus: collaboration between the Armenian Research and Education community and the Cyprus Institute, as well as NRENs in Cyprus and Armenia.
We're thrilled to share insights from a visit to Cyprus from February 23rd to February 27th!
The visit aimed to foster collaboration between the Armenian Research and Education community and the Cyprus Institute, as well as NRENs in Cyprus and Armenia.
Our visit aimed to kickstart collaborations within the framework of the ERASMUS+ project. This partnership seeks to strengthen ties between the two countries and promote knowledge exchange in various academic and computer networking fields. We're proud of CaSToRC's pivotal role as a hub for Computational Sciences in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, and we're excited to collaborate further.
During the visit, our team engaged in a range of activities, including:
- Meetings with distinguished professors and administrators from the Cyprus Institute, such as Dr. Andreas Athenodorou and Dr. Theodoros Christoudias.
- A seminar on "Introduction to Cloud Computing and Virtualization" held by Dr. Hrachya Astsatryan.
- Meetings with the administration of the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center of The Cyprus Institute.
- Dissemination of the EuroCC-2 seminar at The Cyprus Institute, with Dr. Hrachya Astsatryan as the presenter.
- Exploring collaboration opportunities between the two NRENs, with a meeting held with the CyNet team in the frames of EaPConnect project.
We believe this collaboration has great potential for advancing computational sciences and fostering academic cooperation between Armenia and the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
