The work addresses critical challenges in modern therapeutics—poor drug solubility, non-specific distribution, short circulation time, and rising antibiotic resistance—by evaluating surfactant-based nanocarriers. The development of effective drug delivery systems (DDS) has become a pressing priority in modern pharmaceutical science. Despite significant advances in drug discovery, many promising therapeutic agents—including antibiotics—suffer from poor aqueous solubility, short plasma half-life, non-specific biodistribution, and dose-limiting toxicity. These limitations not only reduce treatment efficacy but also contribute to poor patient adherence and the emergence of drug resistance, particularly in the case of antimicrobial therapies.
