ASNET-AM advances Digital Libraries and Repositories in Armenia! From books and photos to musical scores, archival documents, videos, and audio recordings, a wide array of information is being digitised worldwide every day. This transformation not only preserves historical documents, but also enhances their visibility and accessibility. In Armenia, key players in this field include the National Library of Armenia and the Fundamental Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (NAS). Over the past two decades, these institutions have prioritised content preservation, organisation, and the presentation of digitised materials. ASNET-AM, the Armenian #NREN, recognised the importance of addressing these evolving requirements. In collaboration with the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) through the EaPConnect project, ASNET-AM deployed the #dLibra system developed by PSNC. This robust system empowers the creation of digital libraries and repositories, characterised by a user-friendly interface and a multitude of possibilities. The Pan-Armenian Digital Library, a example of dLibra’s success in Armenia, is technically overseen by ASNET-AM in close partnership with colleagues from PSNC. Since its launch in 2019 it houses a rich collection of articles, books, newspapers, voice recordings, and more. The initiative ensures that Armenia’s cultural heritage remains accessible to all, bridging the gap between the past and the digital future.
